Now this is a city. A big city. A really BIG city. A really big NOISY city. Often the noise, especially of people constantly honking their horns can be quite annoying. I have taken to calling HaNOISEY or HaANNOYING. Despite the draw backs it is vibrant and very much alive. I am learning how to enjoy the pace and the bedlam under the tutalage of Maura and Rob and Trish our travelling companions that have joined us here in Northern Vietnam.
Looks crowed. Check out the next picture...
So this is a NARROW road that is cut into two stalls down the middle of the road. There is maybe 6 feet (-2 meters) for people to walk. Add a scooter or two heading different directions and you have your typical Hanoi street market.
One of many flower shops....
On my way back from my haircut. No One Died in the Making of This Video...
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you! We celebrated by having boiled pig's feet (among other bits of deliciousness...)
Now this was great. Earlier in the day before this vid was shot we stopped by what we thought was a street restaurant. It was about 10 am. In our best Vietnamese we order two breakfasts. They bring us two beers. What were we to do? We drank our beer and ordered again. They brought peanuts. We gave up and went across the street for Pho (soup). Our bill for 2 beers and peanuts was under a dollar. Needless to say when Rob and Trish arrived we took THEM for breakfast beers. This is the video that Rob shot whilst drinking...in the morning...REALLY early...but really if you think about it, IT WAS about 8 pm in BC...
