Amed Part Duex

So we rented a scooter for our last week in Bali and hit the road to return to some favourite places and see some new ones. The posting focuses on out time in Amed. We did another 2 tank dive and hit the back roads to see what we could see. Sort of the like when the bear went over the mountain to see what he could see....

Maura bought this hand woven basket for $7. It took this girl 10 days start to finish. We found it on a road trip we did out of our little village we stayed in. Not a lot of folks take this trip as it is a little off the beaten track and a little bumpy as it turns out.

A little alcove with a lot of boats.

Girls on their way to school. This is actually from another part of the trip. Oh well here it is.

Outside of our hotel in Amed at sunrise.

Waiting between our dives. The fellow to the right of Maura makes his living traveling the world taking dive pictures. The other 3 lads, the middle fellow is a porter to carry equipment back and forth to the beach with the other 2 being our dive guides.

Back to our road trip. A boat launching party. The make the canoe in the mountains and then get together to carry it to the ocean. Love the hambone at the end of the line. He is the 'encourager'.

This one family we asked for directions from. We had about 5 words in common but we understood each other perfectly.

I love the expession on Grandpa's face.

Yeah us. Our second time diving the Tulamben wreck. I still love diving. My first dive I ran out of air at 75'. That is another story. As you can see it had a happy ending...

Western Swing is introduced to Bali. Too fun eh? Maybe when I come back they will have started a new band. Bob Bali and the Texas Playboys.

This is the road into Amed. No wonder we wanted to go back.

Sunrise again...

Red skies in morning...
