North Vietnam Hill Tribes

We had an amazing hotel in Sapa close to the Chinese border. It was the best room yet. (Trish it turns out is quite the adventure travel specialist...perhaps there is a future career here...) The next day Trish and Maura arranged for an English speaking guide for the day with a driver that would drop us back at the train back to Hanoi at the end of the day. What a day...

These folks are Flower Hmong.

Trish bought an outfit for her daughter Bridget from this woman.

Chilies? You want some spice in your life?

I snapped this pic on the way through a village. Rob (A) took a video of us. See below.

I took a pic of these kids and this is a video Rob (A) took of Rob (E) showing them their pic

Another swarming, Hmong style...

This video is taken from the van coming down the mountain. People on their bikes are loaded with the spoils they picked up. There are for the most part two people on a scooter with their luggage stashed between them.

Now this WAS funny. There is a laneway leading down towards the local market. A pre-market market for the tourist as it were. This is taken just Maura and Trish are getting the pitch. These folks are for the most part wonderful and not at all aggressive. OK maybe they are aggressive, but they are good natured about it...
